Retail Water Rate:

Infrastructure Rehab Fee $0.75 per 1,000 gallons
· Quantities in each bracket are doubled for two family dwellings.
Multi-family residential, commercial and industrial consumption:

Late Fees on Delinquent Accounts:
Applicable to all water account balances over 30 days from billing date.
Charge $4.00 plus ½% per month on unpaid balances.
Applicable to any account for which a letter is sent regarding Termination of Service.
Charge $25.00 per occurrence
Applicable to any account tagged for impending Termination of Service.
Charge $25.00 per occurrence
Shut off / Turn on Charge:
Applicable to all services shut off due to a specific violation which resulted in the requirement to terminate service.

Inspection and Technical Support:

Meter Testing:
Charge $20.00 payable in advance
Property Ownership Transfer:
Charge $50.00 per occurrence
Insufficient Fund Returned Checks:
Applicable to all payment checks returned to East Smithfield Water District by our bank due to insufficient funds available.
Charge $25.00 per occurrence
Miscellaneous Charges:
Ø Surcharge of $ 1.50 annually per connection for the RI Department of Health.
Ø Surcharges of $0.292 per one thousand gallons consisting of $0.1054 for RI State Watershed Protection, $0.1664 for Water Quality, and $0.0202 administrative fee.
Ø Sales Tax is applicable to non-exempt industrial/commercial accounts.
